The EDIX Vika all-purpose saddle is available as standard in brown and black and in sizes small, medium and large.

A treeless general-purpose saddle made entirely from high-quality synthetic materials, making this saddle a very practical lightweight general-purpose saddle. With its appearance and comfort, the EDIX Vika meets all the requirements that a rider could wish for with regard to recreational all-round horse riding. In the same style as the Vika saddle, matching wide fenders made of synthetic leather have been developed and combined with a Western underlay, a pommel with horn and leather laces, the Vika saddle gets a cool Western look. If you prefer a more English style, EDIX saddles has an extensive range of classic stirrup straps and high-quality stainless steel safety stirrups or lightweight PVC stirrups to create your own style, and an EDIX saddles dealer will be happy to advise you.

The pommel is interchangeable and therefore adjustable for a high or low wither. The pommel is made of fiberglass and the back support is made of high-density foam. Both connect the left and right halves of the saddle and together provide stability to the saddle and comfort for the rider. Due to the special construction of the saddle, the saddle offers freedom of movement for the spine.

Because the EDIX Vika is constructed entirely from synthetic materials, it is a “100% Vegan Proof” treeless all-purpose saddle. The EDIX Vika is the synthetic version of the F.R.A.® Courville, previously the best-selling all-purpose saddle from the F.R.A.® treeless collection. A saddle with which you can, in addition to wonderful long outdoor rides, make a jump and whether your horse can ride dressage in the arena.

An EDIX treeless saddle offers your horse optimal protection for the load exerted on the horse’s back by the special structure, the EDIX MPDS, multiple pressure distribution system (see drawing), of pressure-distributing soft flexible layers. At the same time, these soft, flexible layers offer the opportunity to adapt perfectly to the anatomy of the horse and the posture of the rider. An EDIX treeless saddle fully follows the horse’s movements. Partly because of this, the rider learns to perfectly follow the movements of his horse and in this way develops an independent seat. The result is that horse and rider move as one whole and it is from there that ultimate communication is built up. Because the horse is not hindered in its movements, it has the opportunity to develop optimally and we often see an increase in muscle mass. Due to the above, we also see more relaxation in all facets of riding after the adjustment period, both for the horse and the rider.

EDIX advises you to purchase a complete treeless saddle, including stirrups, stirrup leathers and a matching special underlay with coordinated inserts. Due to their construction, the special treeless saddles, also known as substructure, supplement the pressure-distributing materials of the treeless saddle, also known as superstructure of the entire saddle combination. The EDIX underpads are anatomically shaped and equipped with the correct inserts, guaranteeing freedom of movement of the spine. Because the EDIX pads have 8 insert compartments, position-correcting material can be added in the upper insert compartments, allowing you to temporarily improve a saddle position. EDIX has various models of pads that fit under the Vika saddle. There is a choice between pads with a felt base with a synthetic wool finished underside, or a foam base with an Australian Merino sheepskin. If necessary, additional pressure distributing and/or position correcting material can be added in the upper insert pockets. All EDIX pads are specially designed for the EDIX treeless saddles, but also fit many other brands of treeless saddles. Due to their construction, they complement the pressure-distributing materials of the treeless saddles. The pads are anatomically shaped and equipped with the correct inserts, guaranteeing freedom of movement of the spine.

To ensure constant firm fixation, we recommend the use of a fully or partially elastic girth. A durable elasticity that is tailored to the strength of your horse, protecting your saddle against unwanted forces caused by the varying abdominal circumference of your horse while riding. The elastic of the girth always adjusts in length and has the ability to keep the saddle in place with constant tension.

Depending on the intensity of use, inserts are subject to wear and tear and should be checked from time to time for remaining resilience. These sets of inserts are available separately.
