The EDIX Emir Child is a refined and comfortable soft tree saddle, specially developed for children who want to enjoy a variety of riding activities together with their pony. Whether it's a trail ride, dressage training, or a small jump, the Emir Child offers safety, flexibility, and the right support.

Construction

This saddle is crafted from high-quality, soft Turkish calf leather and features mono saddle flaps with a soft lining. The two separate panels are filled with synthetic wool and can be refilled when needed. Anatomically shaped, they allow the spine to move freely and ensure even pressure distribution across the pony’s back.

Thanks to the interchangeable gullet plates, the saddle maintains sufficient wither clearance and can be easily adjusted to fit a growing or changing pony. The front girth straps are reinforced and stabilized on the panel, ensuring a quiet, secure saddle position. The compact saddle flaps and narrow twist give young riders close contact and good control over their pony.

The knee blocks can be adjusted to preference using the Velcro system inside the flaps, allowing for easy selection of small, large, or short blocks. The EDIX Y-girthing system, featuring two front girth straps and a third Y-strap, allows for multiple girthing options and ensures a stable saddle fit tailored to the pony’s build. The stirrup bar is placed slightly further back, encouraging a natural leg position and reducing pressure on the rider’s knees.

The EDIX Emir Child saddle is available in black and brown leather, in 14" and 15" seat sizes.

Due to its versatile adaptability, EDIX recommends purchasing this saddle in consultation with a certified EDIX dealer or saddle fitter. They can advise you on the most suitable panels for your horse’s conformation and the ideal shape and placement of the knee blocks for your seat. The dealer also checks the final fit and stability of the saddle. For optimal stability during riding, EDIX recommends using an anatomical or crescent-shaped partially elastic girth. These triple-elasticated girths move with the horse’s breathing and motion, provide even pressure distribution, and relieve the chest muscles and girth straps. We also recommend using an EDIX 8-pocket pad, which allows for precise adjustment of the saddle’s pressure distribution and balance.
