Information purchase and warranty

Purchase process
EDIX® advises you to purchase an EDIX® saddle through a well-considered purchasing process. A process in which you provide yourself with sufficient information and/or recieve advice. Buying an EDIX® saddle directly at a webshop or a dealer webshop without informing yourself in advance or consulting with the specialized saddle seller is not the most optimal way. This is because there is a nice saddle combination for every rider and every horse, but we and our horses are not all the same size. EDIX® strongly advises, expecially if this is your first EDIX® saddle combination, that you inform yourself well in advance and preferably go through the process of advice, fitting, testing, purchase and then the after-service process. EDIX® and the official EDIX® dealers are happy to provide information and advice without obligation about the optimal purchasing process.

Our Belgian reining ambassador, Yannick Bastaens, is proving otherwise with his horse Ralphie! 💥

Together, they're putting our EDIX Treeless reining saddle to the test while we make the final refinements before it's ready.

And what a start it has been… they even won their very first competition riding in it! 🏆

Choosing the right girth is just as important as c Choosing the right girth is just as important as choosing the right saddle!

Every horse is built differently, and understanding your horse's girth groove can make a huge difference in saddle stability, comfort, and freedom of movement.

🐴 Neutral Girth Groove (image 1)
A neutral girth groove is located approximately a hand's width behind the elbow and directly beneath the center of the saddle. This creates a balanced position with minimal forward or backward pull on the saddle.
✔️ Best choice: Straight or anatomical girths.

🐴 Forward Girth Groove (image 2)
Common in horses with a short ribcage and a deep, round barrel, such as many draft-type horses. The girth groove sits close behind the elbow, causing the girth (and often the saddle) to be pulled forward.
✔️ Best choice: Crescent-shaped girths, designed to keep the saddle in its correct position.

🐴 Backward Girth Groove (image 3)
Often seen in horses with a longer ribcage and an upward-sloping underline, such as many Thoroughbreds and sport horses. The girth groove sits further back, creating more backward pull on the saddle.
✔️ Best choice: A very lightly shaped girth, allowing the saddle to remain balanced without excessive backward pressure.

Finding the right girth isn't about choosing the most popular option, it's about choosing the one that matches your horse's unique conformation. The right combination of saddle and girth helps improve stability, comfort, and overall performance for both horse and rider 🤎
