The EDIX Alydar Kids is a beautifully crafted, high-quality jumping saddle specially designed for young riders. Made from soft, supple premium leather with leather-covered panels filled with synthetic wool, it features a broad channel for spinal clearance and optimal pressure distribution. The saddle offers excellent leg support tailored to the jumping position, with knee rolls that can be easily repositioned for a perfect fit.

Construction

The EDIX Alydar Kids is built with the same attention to detail as the adult version. Its leather panels provide softness and adjustability, and the saddle is available in sizes 14" and 15", ideal for young equestrians. The seat and flap shapes are designed to support a correct and secure jumping position.

The EDIX Alydar is built on a flexible soft tree: an internal base consisting of a 3-point fiber pommel, a fiber cantle, and thick yet supple leather connecting the two. This leather tree is layered with multiple shock-absorbing and flexible components. While technically still treeless, due to the absence of a solid rigid tree, the Alydar provides more structure than traditional treeless saddles.

The Alydar comes standard with short show jumping flaps and features adjustable knee and rear blocks attached with velcro , a movable stirrup bar, and multiple girthing options. The seat has a medium depth with a low cantle, and offers a narrow twist for a balanced and secure position.

Due to its versatile adaptability, EDIX recommends purchasing this saddle in consultation with a certified EDIX dealer or saddle fitter. They can advise you on the most suitable panels for your horse’s conformation and the ideal shape and placement of the knee blocks for your seat. The dealer also checks the final fit and stability of the saddle. For optimal stability during riding, EDIX recommends using an anatomical or crescent-shaped partially elastic girth. These triple-elasticated girths move with the horse’s breathing and motion, provide even pressure distribution, and relieve the chest muscles and girth straps. We also recommend using an EDIX 8-pocket pad, which allows for precise adjustment of the saddle’s pressure distribution and balance.
