The EDIX Fusion Suede barebackpad is the baroque-inspired version of the popular EDIX Union. This model combines the proven stability and pressure distribution of the EDIX Union with a design specifically developed for riders who prefer a classical, baroque seat and riding position. The pad is made from premium brushed cow leather (suede), creating a natural anti-slip surface and a stable feeling while riding.
The Fusion is suitable for riders across various disciplines and works particularly well for combinations that benefit from a shorter flap. Thanks to the medium-deep, soft seat and the interchangeable, adjustable knee blocks, this barebackpad supports a balanced and relaxed riding position.
Superior Pressure Distribution & Baroque Fit
The EDIX Fusion is equipped with pressure-distributing panels and adapts to the anatomy of the horse. Carefully selected flexible materials ensure an even distribution of the rider’s weight and help reduce pressure points.
What distinguishes the Fusion, besides the shorter flaps, are the baroque-shaped panels. These panels provide a larger support surface and create additional stability and pressure distribution under the pad. This results in a calm and comfortable fit, even on horses with a broader back or more rounded ribcage.
The Fusion can also be used without panels, in combination with a well-shimmed EDIX 8-pocket pad.
The panels are adjustable using Velcro, allowing the Fusion to be perfectly adapted to the conformation of the horse. Optionally, Union panels are available, making the pad even more versatile and suitable for different horses.
The soft seat and subtle cantle support the rider in a stable, centered position, while the adjustable knee blocks in two sizes provide additional support when desired.
Innovative Stirrup & Girthing System
The stirrup attachment of the Fusion is strategically positioned to distribute the rider’s weight optimally. This spreads the load across multiple layers within the construction of the pad.
The PP Y-girthing system increases stability by distributing girth pressure over a larger surface area. The movable rings allow the girth position to naturally adapt to the horse’s conformation. The girth strap length is 15 inches.
This system ensures a stable position of the pad without restricting the horse’s freedom of movement.
Optimal Grip & Natural Riding Feel
Suede cow leather is known for its excellent grip and provides a very stable seat while riding. The soft, slightly textured surface offers the rider additional hold, making the pad especially suitable for riders who prefer a secure and stable position. This makes suede particularly suitable for riders working with young horses, horses with more movement, or riders who simply prefer extra stability. The material also feels soft and comfortable, making longer rides pleasant for the rider.
Because suede has an open structure, the material can be more sensitive to dirt and moisture than smooth leather. With proper care, however, the material remains attractive and functional for a long time. Regular cleaning with a suede cleaner helps remove dirt and grease, while a suede protector protects the material against moisture and dirt. Occasionally brushing the suede lightly and treating it with a protective spray helps maintain its natural appearance, grip, and durability.
