EDIX DR Sparkle 8-pocket pad child

€99,50

The EDIX 8-pocket children’s size saddle pads are a real game changer in fitting pony saddles. These saddle pads are tailored to the length of pony saddles and with the various inlay compartments you can correct and improve the position of the saddle on often difficult or very round pony backs.

Description

All pockets, the top pockets and the large inlay compartments are all equipped with multi-layer felt inlays as standard. With the top pockets you can correct the balance of a saddle. the large inlay pockets are intended to lift saddles a little further from the spine and to provide some extra pressure distribution.

On both sides of the spine there are 2 large inlay pockets on the inside, for the inlays over the full length, and 3 small pockets on the top, to better position the saddle in balance on your horse.

Of course, a different type of inlay can be chosen if necessary.

Because the pad does not have merino sheepskin or synthetic wool on the underside, the pad is also ideal for very round ponies.

The EDIX uni saddle pads can be used for treeless saddles as well as tree saddles.

Execution:

  • outer fabric is a luxuriously soft satiny poly blend fabric
  • the bottom is made of a 100% cotton fabric
  • the inside material is a pressure-distributing foam
  • beautiful anatomical backline
  • split for wither freedom
  • velcro straps for d-ring attachment
  • 8 separate compartments that can be closed with velcro
  • supplied with felt inlays as standard
  • free vertebra

The saddle pad is easy to wash in the washing machine, but we do recommend removing the inlays.

Available in various colors.

This saddle pad fits the EDIX children's version saddle Tudor. But also fits many other brands of pony saddles.

Choosing the right girth is just as important as c Choosing the right girth is just as important as choosing the right saddle!

Every horse is built differently, and understanding your horse's girth groove can make a huge difference in saddle stability, comfort, and freedom of movement.

🐴 Neutral Girth Groove (image 1)
A neutral girth groove is located approximately a hand's width behind the elbow and directly beneath the center of the saddle. This creates a balanced position with minimal forward or backward pull on the saddle.
✔️ Best choice: Straight or anatomical girths.

🐴 Forward Girth Groove (image 2)
Common in horses with a short ribcage and a deep, round barrel, such as many draft-type horses. The girth groove sits close behind the elbow, causing the girth (and often the saddle) to be pulled forward.
✔️ Best choice: Crescent-shaped girths, designed to keep the saddle in its correct position.

🐴 Backward Girth Groove (image 3)
Often seen in horses with a longer ribcage and an upward-sloping underline, such as many Thoroughbreds and sport horses. The girth groove sits further back, creating more backward pull on the saddle.
✔️ Best choice: A very lightly shaped girth, allowing the saddle to remain balanced without excessive backward pressure.

Finding the right girth isn't about choosing the most popular option, it's about choosing the one that matches your horse's unique conformation. The right combination of saddle and girth helps improve stability, comfort, and overall performance for both horse and rider 🤎

Why a saddle fitting consultation matters Choos Why a saddle fitting consultation matters

Choosing a saddle is about so much more than finding one that looks good! A professional saddle fitting consultation is the key to ensuring comfort, performance, and long-term well-being for both horse and rider.

A qualified saddle fitter can assess your horse's current condition, muscle development, and conformation, while also taking your position and riding goals into account. This helps determine which saddle is the best match for your unique combination.

At our brand, we offer a wide range of customization options:
✨ Different saddle models with different panel designs.
✨ Interchangeable panels within the same saddle type (FlexTree panels are interchangeable within the FlexTree range, SoftTree panels within the SoftTree range).
✨ Various seat depths.
✨ Different knee block options, with 1 model offering both short and long knee blocks.

Also with our treeless saddles, proper fitting is essential. The correct pommel size and a well-fitted saddle pad with adjustable shims make all the difference in achieving the perfect fit for your horse.

Looking for a saddle fitter? Visit the Find Your Dealer page on our website under Dealers to find an experienced saddle fitter or dealer near you.
