Description

The EDIX® Halo and Halo Pro are unique, innovative shank designs developed by EDIX Saddles, to enable soft, clear, and horse-friendly communication without a bit. Each model offers its own type of action, giving riders the ability to fine-tune the intensity of their aids and the desired level of control to suit their horse and riding style.

Hackamore shanks are the metal components attached to the noseband and headpiece of a hackamore bridle. They create leverage, allowing the rider to communicate through pressure on the nose and jaw, without placing anything in the horse’s mouth. The length and shape of the shanks determine the amount of leverage and pressure: shorter shanks create milder action, while longer ones provide more control. Some designs, like the Halos, include multiple rein rings or adjustable positions for more refined communication.

All EDIX® shanks are protected by registered design rights at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO):
Halo® – EUIPO 015011826-0001
Halo Pro® – EUIPO 015011826-0002
These innovative designs reflect EDIX’s commitment to ethical riding and to fostering clear, respectful communication between horse and rider.

EDIX® shanks are fully interchangeable and fit not only the EDIX ED4 hackamore bridle but also most hackamore-style bridles from other brands. This versatility makes them a valuable addition to any bitless tack collection.

EDIX Halo® Shanks

The EDIX Halo® is a lightweight stainless steel shank with a clean, minimalist design. It features multiple rein attachment points that allow the rider to fine-tune the amount and location of pressure. The fixed D-ring functions as a stable sidepull, while additional holes in the shank enable mild leverage if desired. The D-ring is equipped with a magnetic closure to keep it neatly in place when not in use.

Riders can further refine the cue response by changing rein position or slightly rotating the shanks. The Halo grows with the rider: from sidepull to hackamore and back, always supporting soft, precise communication.

The Halo is also suitable for use with double reins, though the leverage in this setup is milder than with the Halo Pro. This makes the Halo an ideal choice for everyday riding, groundwork, or riders seeking a balance between freedom of movement and gentle control.

Its clever yet simple construction delivers smooth, consistent feedback with instant release, supporting the horse’s comfort and responsiveness, all while maintaining an elegant design.

EDIX Halo Pro® Shanks

Based on the Halo design, the EDIX Halo Pro® offers even more possibilities thanks to its extra rein slot. This allows riders to switch between sidepull and leverage reins or use both at the same time.

The upper D-ring functions as a stable sidepull, while the lower slot provides mild leverage when more control is needed for example during collection, transitions, or lateral movements. A magnetic closure holds the D-ring in place when not in use.

This dynamic setup supports a natural head–neck position and encourages relaxation of the jaw and poll thanks to the anatomical shaping. The Halo Pro is especially suited for dressage riders, show jumpers, or anyone training in refinement without compromising softness and comfort.

Designed for Comfort

All EDIX® shanks are made of high-quality stainless steel and designed with the horse’s anatomy in mind. They exert no pressure on the poll, allow instant release of rein aids, and promote subtle, respectful communication. More than just metal hardware, EDIX® shanks are tools for harmony, trust, and freedom in bitless riding.
With EDIX® shanks, you ride with intention, clarity, and sincere attention to your horse!

The EDIX Amira, what makes it different? ➡️ http The EDIX Amira, what makes it different?

At first glance, the EDIX Amira may look similar to the EDIX Emir, but there are some important differences that create a unique riding experience!

🐴 Inspired by the Emir
The Amira was developed from the popular Emir, with the same proven technical options.

🔹 A different feel in the saddle
The biggest difference is the SE-Flex Tree. While the technical cantle height is the same as the Soft Tree version, the flexible tree creates a noticeably different seat and riding feel.

🔹 More fitting possibilities
The Amira features a wider tree width than the Soft Tree model and includes a panel with a drop, a frontcut in the frontgusset, plus a second panelattachment position. These extra adjustment options allow your saddle fitter to fine-tune the fit even more precisely for your horse.

Does your horse not need the panel drop? No problem! Your saddle fitter can position it so it doesn't interfere, while still providing additional weight-bearing surface.
The frontcut in the frontgusset is offering more space, allowing the shoulder to move more freely.

🔹 Closer contact
The Amira's saddle flap is made from a different, thinner leather, giving you a closer and more refined connection with your horse.

🔹 Designed for comfort
For riders with shorter legs or horses with a rounder, broader build, the all-purpose design of the Amira may offer a more comfortable position than a traditional dressage saddle.

✔️ Standard knee blocks are included, with thicker knee blocks available on request.
✔️ The stirrup attachment is the same as on the Emir, which is posotioned a bit mote back compared to most saddles allowing you for a more natural rider position.

Every horse and rider combination is unique, which is why the best saddle is always the one that suits both of you. Your EDIX saddle fitter can help determine which model is the perfect match.

Have you already ridden in the EDIX Amira? We'd love to hear your experience! 💬

Choosing the right stirrup leathers for your EDIX Choosing the right stirrup leathers for your EDIX Union or EDIX Fusion is essential!

When riding an EDIX Union or EDIX Fusion, choosing the right stirrup leathers is important to protect the beautiful finish of your saddle.

Both models are made with premium smooth cow leather or suede, which can be sensitive to friction. Using the wrong type of stirrup leathers may cause unnecessary wear or damage to the leather over time.

That’s why we recommend choosing soft leather stirrup leathers, such as:

EDIX Classic double stirrupleathers soft leather
EDIX Mono wide stirrupleathers

These options are gentle on your saddle while providing the comfort, quality, and durability you expect from EDIX 😊

Another great option is using EDIX Merino stirrupleather covers. They help protect the leather of your saddle while adding extra softness and style.

Did you know that proper care helps your merino pe Did you know that proper care helps your merino perform at its best? 💚

That's why EDIX merino products comes with an EDIX Woolbrush.

After every ride, simply brush away loose hair, sweat, and dirt. Regular brushing helps keep the merino soft, fluffy, and breathable, allowing it to continue distributing pressure, regulating temperature, and providing the comfort your horse deserves.

A few minutes of care can make a big difference in the lifespan and performance of your merino products! 🐑
