EDIX Ishya flexible dressage saddle

The EDIX Ishya is a beautifully designed monoflap dressage saddle, built on a flexible tree specially developed by EDIX. Made from soft, high-quality calf leather and equipped with supple wool-filled leather panels, the saddle ensures a close leg contact thanks to its monoflap design, offering refined communication between rider and horse.

Construction

The EDIX Ishya is built on a flexible tree made of PBP (Plastic Blended Polymer), a lightweight synthetic material with exceptional flexibility. This provides great comfort for the horse while maintaining stability. Due to the tree’s unique shape, careful selection of matching panels is essential for an optimal fit.

The standard panels are flocked with synthetic wool but can optionally be factory-ordered with 100% real sheep wool for an additional charge. All Ishya panels are softly and supple flocked and contain extra filling to allow further adjustment by an EDIX saddle fitter for optimal weight distribution and fit.
Thanks to its modular system, different panel types are available and can be easily interchanged by an EDIX saddle fitter, making the Ishya suitable for multiple types of horses or changing back shapes. Besides the standard Ishya panels EDIX also has a variety of different panels which all can be used under the Ishya, and can all be attached by the saddle fitter or ordered standard directly from the factory. As such, the EDIX Ishya can always be guaranteed to fit different horses. When the horse changes shape due to training, growth or age and the originally purchased panels don’t fit anymore, you will have the ability to replace the old panels with new ones to refit the saddle to the horse.

The EDIX Ishya features a wide spinal clearance channel, providing ample room for free spinal movement. The gullet plate is interchangeable, allowing the saddle to be adjusted as needed. The high thigh block can be positioned according to the rider’s needs, with a choice between short or long blocks. The various block options can be easily swapped and positioned using a screw-on system.

Availability

The EDIX Ishya is available in black and brown, in sizes S-17”, M-17.5”, and L-18”.

Due to the saddle’s adjustability, EDIX strongly recommends purchasing through an authorized EDIX dealer or saddle fitter. They can advise on the most suitable panels for your horse and the ideal thigh blocks for your leg position. The dealer will also verify the final fit and block placement.

For optimal saddle stability while riding, we recommend the EDIX anatomical or crescen 3-part elastic girth. These 3-part girths adapt to the horse’s breathing and movement, offering consistent, even pressure while relieving tension on the chest muscles and girth straps. We also suggest using an EDIX 8-pocket pad for precise balance and pressure distribution under the saddle.
