Description
The EDIX Libre treeless dressage saddle offers your horse optimal protection for the load exerted on the horse's back by the special structure, EDIX MPDS, multiple pressure distribution system (see drawing), of pressure-distributing soft flexible layers. At the same time, these soft flexible layers offer the possibility to adapt to the anatomy of the horse and the posture of the rider. That does not mean that you should not adapt a Libre saddle, or any other treeless saddle that can be formed, to the anatomy of your horse, you should! If your horse has an under or over build or a sagging back, you should further perfect the position of your saddle with an accompanying 8 pocket pad. The advantage of this type of saddle is that horses can move well and can therefore achieve a lot of muscle building and can change a sagging back into a lesser shape so that you can subsequently change the inserts or shims in the pad. These saddles can therefore be adjusted time and again to the changing build of your horse. Due to the lack of a wooden or plastic tree, the saddle is really lightweight, which is an advantage for your horse. Less heavy = less intense impact to bear on the back, both for the horse and for the rider during saddling.
An EDIX treeless saddle fully follows the horse's movements. the saddle is flexible both laterally and diagonally. Partly because of this, the dressage rider learns to perfectly follow the movements of his horse and develops an independent seat more quickly and in this way more easily. The result is that horse and rider start moving as one whole and it is from there that ultimate communication is built up. Because the horse is not hindered in its movements, it has the opportunity to develop optimally and we often see an increase in muscle mass and much wider movements. Due to the above, we often see more relaxation in all facets of riding, immediately in the horse, but certainly after the adjustment period, both in the horse and the rider.
EDIX advises you to purchase a treeless saddle complete with a matching special underlay with coordinated inserts. Due to their construction, the special treeless saddles, also known as substructure, supplement the pressure-distributing materials of the treeless saddle, also known as superstructure of the entire saddle combination. The EDIX underpads are anatomically shaped and equipped with the correct inserts, guaranteeing freedom of movement of the spine. Because the EDIX pads have 8 insert compartments, position-correcting material (also called shimming) can be added in the top 6 small insert compartments, allowing you to improve the position of the saddle. For example, consider overbuilding or underbuilding or if your horse has a sagging back due to construction or old age. In the 2 large inlay compartments, where the built-in panels of the Libre rest, you can insert the standard supplied felt layers to provide extra pressure distribution and or to lift the saddle a little further, depending on your preference. In the case of the latter, think of a somewhat older nature where the vertebra comes up a bit. In addition to the pads cut in the same line as the saddle, finished with a beautiful silver, EDIX has various other models of pads that fit under the Libre saddle. There is a choice between pads with a felt base with a cotton underside, or saddle pads with a foam base with Australian Merino sheepskin.
All EDIX pads are specially designed for the EDIX® treeless saddles, but also fit many other brands of treeless saddles. Their construction complements the pressure-distributing properties of tree and treeless saddles. Where more space is created between the saddle and your horse's back, the horse will move better due to comfort. This applies to tree and treeless. The pads are anatomically shaped, have space between the left and right sides and equipped with the correct inserts, they guarantee optimal freedom of movement for the spine.
The EDIX Libre is allowed for official dressage competitions!
To ensure constant firm fixation, we recommend the use of an EDIX partially elastic with 3 anatomical parts leather girth. A durable elasticity that is tailored to the strength of your horse, protecting your saddle against unwanted forces caused by the varying waist circumference of your horse while riding. The elastic of the girth always adjusts in length and has the ability to keep the saddle in place with constant tension. EDIX the anatomical soft leather girths in a straight shape and in a curved shape in the range.
Depending on the intensity of use, inserts are subject to wear and tear and should be checked from time to time for remaining resilience. The different types of inserts are available separately as a set.
