The EDIX Tudor is a stylish and fully equipped dressage saddle with a soft tree construction, crafted entirely from supple, high-quality Turkish calf leather. Its classic appearance is perfectly balanced with modern functionality, making it an ideal choice for both recreational and competition-focused dressage riders.

Construction

The EDIX Tudor is built on a flexible soft tree, a three-part internal structure consisting of a fiber-reinforced front arch (3-point gullet plate), a fiber cantle, and thick but supple leather connecting both. This leather tree is layered with multiple flexible and shock-absorbing materials. While this saddle technically still classified as treeless, due to the absence of a rigid solid tree, the Tudor offers more structure than traditional treeless saddles. As a result, the saddle conforms to the horse’s anatomy and ensures optimal pressure distribution.

The saddle features an interchangeable gullet system, allowing it to be adjusted to the horse’s width. The front girth strap is stitched through and runs through the panel, contributing to a stable position. Its mono flap design provides close contact with the horse, while the rear Y-girthing system ensures even pressure and adjustability to various builds.

Unlike many other dressage saddles, the stirrup bar is placed more centrally to promote a relaxed and correct leg position while relieving pressure on the knees. The Tudor also allows riders to personalize their support with small or large knee blocks that can be positioned exactly where needed in the spacious Velcro pockets.

Availability

The EDIX Tudor is available in black and brown leather, in sizes XXS-16", XS-16.5", S-17", M-17.5" and L-18". The panel contact surface per size is approximately: XXS (16") – 40 cm, M (17") – 42 cm, and L (18") – 46 cm. Please note that slight variations in shade may occur in brown saddles due to natural differences in leather structure. Cognac is available in limited supply, please contact us for current stock.

Due to its high adaptability, EDIX recommends purchasing this saddle in consultation with an official EDIX dealer or saddle fitter. They can advise on the most suitable panel shape for your horse and help select and position the ideal knee blocks for your seat. The fitter will also ensure a correct and stable fit. For optimal performance during riding, EDIX recommends using an anatomical or crescent-shaped partially elastic girth. These 3-piece girths move with your horse’s breathing and motion, distribute pressure evenly, and reduce strain on the chest and girth straps. Additionally, using an EDIX 8-pocket pad is advised to fine-tune balance and pressure distribution.
