Description
The EDIX Wheel is a versatile, wheel-shaped hackamore that allows the action to be adjusted to suit the horse and rider. The various attachment openings provide multiple options for attaching the bridle, noseband, chin strap and reins. This allows the rider to choose between a more direct action or a configuration with increased leverage.
The position of the reins in relation to the bridle attachment point partly determines the amount of leverage. The greater the distance between these attachment points, the clearer the action. The overall strength of the action also depends on the adjustment, the noseband and chin strap used, and the rider’s hands.
Two Sizes
The EDIX Wheel is available in two sizes:
- Standard, 80 mm: suitable for most horse heads
- Mini, 60 mm: particularly suitable for ponies, smaller horses and horses with a finer or more compact head
Both versions offer the same attachment options and action. The Mini has smaller dimensions and shorter distances between the attachment points, allowing it to fit more neatly against a smaller or finer horse’s head.
Versatile Adjustment Options
The various attachment options allow the EDIX Hack Wheel to be adjusted to the desired type of communication. Depending on the selected attachment points, the hackamore can be used with a more direct action or with leverage.
The EDIX Hack Wheel can be combined with the anatomically shaped EDIX ED4 hackamore bridle as part of the modular EDIX® bitless system. The hackamores can be easily interchanged, allowing the bridle to be used with different types and levels of action.
The Hack Wheel is also compatible with many other hackamore bridles, provided their attachments and dimensions are suitable.
